Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care across medical and surgical units as a Flex RN
• Float seamlessly between Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and occasional Cardiovascular assignments
• Manage complex patient needs including wound vac care and chest tube management
• Use Meditech EMR and Pyxis to document care, administer medications, and ensure accurate medication management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and escalate concerns to maintain patient safety
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing training to maintain competency
• Adhere to facility policies, professional standards, and infection immunity requirements

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Hawaii required by assignment start date (candidates without HI license must apply immediately upon acceptance)
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC are preferred
• 2-10 years of relevant nursing experience in medical-surgical or related acute care settings
• Comfortable floating between units and adapting to different team workflows
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and meet schedule requirements
• Documentation of required immunizations; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of proof

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech EMR proficiency for documentation and order management
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication systems
• Experience with wound vac therapy and chest tube care
• Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and clinical judgment
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate effectively with patients and teams
• Adaptability to float across units and quickly learn unit-specific routines
