Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers safely and respectfully
• Take and accurately record vital signs and observe residents for changes in condition
• Support individualized care plans and follow direction from the nursing team
• Document care activities clearly and timely in resident records
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Report concerns or changes in residents’ status promptly to nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification as required by Maryland
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adults and committed to dignity-centered care
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved GNA training program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
• Knowledge of basic vital signs, safe transfer techniques, and infection control
• Accurate documentation and observation skills
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and ability to engage with residents
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
