Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers safely and respectfully
- Take and accurately record vital signs and observe residents for changes in condition
- Support individualized care plans and follow direction from the nursing team
- Document care activities clearly and timely in resident records
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Report concerns or changes in residents’ status promptly to nursing staff
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification as required by Maryland
- CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with older adults and committed to dignity-centered care
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved GNA training program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
- Knowledge of basic vital signs, safe transfer techniques, and infection control
- Accurate documentation and observation skills
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and ability to engage with residents
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
