Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a progressive care/telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and quickly identify rhythm changes
• Manage post-surgical and post-cardiac cath patients with vigilance and compassion
• Administer and titrate critical drips and epidural/PCA therapies per protocol
• Perform chest tube care and ongoing assessment of respiratory and hemodynamic status
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clear handoffs to the team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Support unit flow by managing admissions, discharges, and high-turnover situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for the assignment or ability to obtain one
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with PCU/telemetry or equivalent acute care background
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated competency in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with chest tube management, epidurals, and post-operative cardiac care
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills

• Cardiac telemetry and rhythm interpretation

• Critical drip and epidural/PCA management
• Proficient documentation in Meditech
• Ability to prioritize in a high-turnover patient environment
