Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients continuously using cardiac telemetry to detect changes early
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to arrhythmias and hemodynamic changes
• Manage chest tubes, epidurals and post-op surgical care with attention to detail
• Administer and titrate critical drips (e.g., NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone) safely and according to protocol
• Provide compassionate post-catheterization and post-op care, including device and groin site management
• Document thoroughly in Meditech to ensure accurate, team-wide communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered plans of care
• Educate patients and families about recovery, medications and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of relevant PCU/telemetry experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Comfort and experience with cardiac telemetry, chest tube care, epidurals and post-op nursing
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems is highly desirable
• Strong teamwork, communication and time-management skills in high-turnover settings

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Chest tube management and post-operative surgical care
• Experience with critical drips and epidural/PCA management
• Post-cath and device care including groin site management
• Proficient documentation in Meditech or comparable EMR
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients with changing acuity
• Collaborative approach and strong bedside patient education skills
