Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med-Surg, ortho, neuro and pediatric patients
• Provide skilled post-op care for orthopedic and spine surgical patients
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret findings and intervene appropriately
• Safely manage medications and IV therapy using Baxter and Medfusion pumps
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech
• Prioritize and manage a patient assignment ratio of approximately 1:5–1:6 while advocating for patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective discharge planning and continuity of care
• Serve as a strong patient advocate and communicate clearly with patients and families

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-appropriate) required
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• BLS required
• PALS certification and pediatric care experience preferred
• Experience with post-op orthopedic and spine care a plus
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Comfortable using Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps and SCDs
• Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg clinical assessment and monitoring skills
• Post-operative care for orthopedic and spine patients
• IV pump management and safe medication administration
• Patient ratio management for 1:5–1:6 assignments
• Electronic charting proficiency (Meditech)
• Effective communication, patient advocacy and teamwork
