Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to SICU patients, including trauma, post-CABG and post-TAVR patients
• Manage complex life-support equipment such as ECMO, CRRT and balloon pumps with competence and confidence
• Perform and manage invasive lines and procedures including central lines and chest tubes
• Safely titrate and monitor medication drips, ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR (Meditech)
• Assess patients continuously and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide compassionate family communication and support during high-acuity situations
• Act as a proactive member of the unit: participate in shift handoffs, bedside rounds, and unit improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC or ATCN certification required (per unit must-have list)
• Experience with critical care modalities (ECMO, CRRT, balloon pump) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR advantageous
• Strong clinical judgment, organization, and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program and current RN licensure; ADN or BSN welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical Care Nursing and SICU best practices
• Management of ECMO, CRRT, balloon pumps and hypothermia protocols
• Post-operative care for CABG and TAVR patients
• Skillful management of chest tubes, central lines and complex medication drips
• Ability to work in 1:2 and 1:1 high-acuity patient ratios
• Proficient documentation in Meditech EMR
• Trauma assessment and stabilization knowledge
