Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, administer, and accurately record prescribed medications to ensure safe patient care
- Perform dressing changes and wound care with attention to infection control and healing
- Insert and manage catheters and start IVs to support patient treatment plans
- Adjust and operate specialized medical equipment and interpret measurement readouts
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical status, escalating concerns promptly
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and professionally
- Report adverse drug reactions and other urgent events in a timely manner to the care team
Qualifications
- Active Oklahoma RN license or compact RN eligibility (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- NIH (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Recent travel nurse experience highly preferred
- Current work history and skills checklist (current to 1 year)
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
- Availability to complete facility onboarding and required documentation
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration knowledge and accurate clinical documentation
- Proficiency in wound care and dressing changes
- Competence with catheter insertion and IV starts
- Experience adjusting and interpreting readings from specialized medical equipment
- Skilled in patient monitoring, vital signs assessment, and early recognition of clinical change
- Ability to report adverse drug reactions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
