Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients using the Nursing Process and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care, implementing and evaluating nursing interventions for optimal outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policy
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and report changes in patient status
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and the broader care team to coordinate comprehensive care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and wellness strategies
- Advocate for patients' rights and provide emotional support during care
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements and best practices
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with behavioral health care
Qualifications
- Current NH RN licensure required (NH license or compact; must be active at time of submission)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
- ACLS (AHA) certification required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- PALS certification required
- BLS/ACLS/PALS and other required license/certificates must be current and submitted with application
- Submission packet should include work history, skills checklist (current to 1 year) and one supervisory reference from the past two years
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient application of the Nursing Process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills
- Medication administration expertise and adherence to safety protocols
- Behavioral health nursing knowledge and experience
- Care planning, patient education and care coordination abilities
- Collaborative teamwork and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
- Advocacy and compassionate support for patients and families
