Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory care — deliver preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services with compassion and precision
• Perform airway management and assist with intubations, ensuring patient safety during critical procedures
• Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and respiratory support devices, adjusting settings per physician orders
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and monitor patient responses to therapy
• Perform ECGs and monitor vital signs to identify changes and escalate when necessary
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment — inspect, clean, test and coordinate repairs
• Educate patients and families on disease management, breathing techniques and home equipment
• Document treatments and maintain accurate patient charts and inventory records
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate patient care plans

Qualifications

• 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience required — bring your hands-on skills
• Active Michigan State Respiratory Therapist License (must be active)
• NBRC RRT required (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• BLS (AHA) required; ACLS (AHA) preferred
• NRP preferred for neonatal work
• Ability to perform ABG collection, mechanical ventilation management and airway support
• Willingness to take occasional call and work scheduled holidays as needed
• Profile requirements: current skills checklist, work history, and 2 supervisory references with employment dates
