Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality mammography and general radiographic procedures using CR and DR systems
• Operate and troubleshoot PACS, HIS and RIS applications to ensure timely image access and reporting
• Provide compassionate patient care, maintain patient confidentiality, and practice infection control
• Apply independent judgment during technical procedures to facilitate accurate diagnoses
• Maintain required departmental competencies and complete annual mandatory education (blood borne pathogens, infection control, body substance isolation)
• Assist with supervision or instruction of department personnel when assigned
• Document skills and work history accurately at submission and provide required supervisory references

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification — required
• ARRT (M) certification (Mammography) — required
• BLS (AHA) — required
• State radiologic technologist license for Massachusetts — required
• Minimum 2 years X-Ray experience with 1 year current experience
• Minimum 2 years current mammography experience
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as scheduled
• Traveler must have own vehicle and include permanent address on profile; facility will not consider travelers who reside within 50 miles of the facility
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (or equivalent) generally required to meet ARRT certification standards
• ARRT certifications required (R and M)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with mammography, radiography/X-ray, CR and DR technologies
• Experience using PACS, HIS and RIS systems and basic troubleshooting
• Strong patient care skills and commitment to infection control and body substance isolation
• Ability to follow departmental and OSHA policies and maintain patient confidentiality
• Competence in equipment operation, quality control, and clinical documentation
• Good communication skills for patient interactions and teamwork
