Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Day), 36 patient contact hours/week, includes participation in on-call schedule; procedure/OR days scheduled as OR availability allows

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient otolaryngology care to adult and outreach populations across central Iowa
- Perform the full range of ENT procedures and coordinate with OR staff to schedule surgical cases
- Manage clinic patient volume efficiently (15-minute appointment cadence reflected by clinic flow) and maintain excellent documentation in EPIC
- Participate in the on-call rotation to support hospital coverage when scheduled
- Collaborate with ancillary services including medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy to ensure coordinated care
- Engage in teaching opportunities with learners and contribute to a supportive educational environment
- Work with clinic administration on scheduling and workflow to optimize patient access and provider efficiency
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Otolaryngology residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Otolaryngology
- Active or eligible for an Iowa medical license and ability to obtain required credentials
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic medical records, with strong documentation skills
- Comfort performing a broad range of ENT procedures in both clinic and OR settings
- Willingness to participate in a locum-to-perm arrangement and sign attestation indicating interest in a permanent position
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain one, and eligibility for hospital privileges
Education
- MD or DO, completed residency in Otolaryngology
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical expertise in adult and procedural otolaryngology
- Ability to manage inpatient consults and perioperative care
- Proven skills in OR planning and clinic scheduling coordination
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record workflows
- Effective communication and teaching skills for working with interdisciplinary teams and learners
- Comfort interpreting medical imaging relevant to ENT and coordinating with imaging services
