Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations accurately and compassionately under physician order.
• Operate and maintain vascular laboratory and imaging equipment in a safe, compliant manner.
• Document procedures and operate medical record/imaging systems with attention to detail.
• Position, transport, and comfort patients while ensuring their safety throughout procedures.
• Assist physicians with special vascular procedures and intra-departmental coordination.
• Maintain and promote compliance with IAC standards and department policies.
• Lead or assist in precepting students and new staff to foster a strong team.
• Perform cleaning and disinfection tasks to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Manage departmental supplies and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Champion positive interpersonal relations and patient-centered service recovery when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited institution (required).
• Registered through ARDMS with RVT preferred, or CCI with RVS — or able to register within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of two years’ experience performing vascular studies under a qualified vascular physician or laboratory preferred.
• Maintain required CME (minimum 15 hours every three years) in compliance with IAC standards.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Ability to safely lift and move patients and equipment consistent with medium work demands.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited institution (vascular technology or related program preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on expertise in vascular and diagnostic ultrasound techniques
• Comfortable operating imaging systems and laboratory equipment
• Familiarity with IAC standards and vascular lab best practices
• Patient positioning, transport, and safe handling skills
• Infection control: cleaning and disinfection procedures
• Electronic medical record and imaging system proficiency
• TeamSTEPPS and AIDET communication approaches for excellent patient interactions
• Precepting and mentoring skills to support learners and new hires
• Strong organization, time management, and decision-making abilities
