Hours per Week: 36 hrs per week (3x12 schedule; guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric and adult patients in ICU settings
- Manage advanced ventilator therapies including Draeger, Servo-I, Puritan Bennett, 3100A/3100B and jet ventilators
- Perform ventilator management and weaning, troubleshoot high pressure alarms and optimize ventilator settings
- Deliver noninvasive support such as BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC and high frequency ventilation when indicated
- Administer specialty therapies including nitric oxide and Flolan nebulizer therapy safely and effectively
- Interpret arterial blood gases and adjust respiratory plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Provide neonatal procedures such as umbilical blood gases and assist in high-risk deliveries when needed
- Chart accurately in Epic and communicate clearly with physicians, nurses and families
Qualifications
- Valid CRT/Respiratory Therapist credential required (CRT) and current BLS
- NRBC certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent Level 3 or 4 NICU or PICU experience required; strong PICU exposure acceptable
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs and work assigned weekends
- Must be located at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates per req)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required by facility; flu vaccine policy unknown
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program; registry/credentialing strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management: Draeger, Servo-I, Puritan Bennett, 3100A/3100B, jet ventilators
- High frequency jet ventilation and high frequency oscillator experience
- Noninvasive ventilation: BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC and other NIV modalities
- Specialty therapies: inhaled nitric oxide, Flolan nebulizer administration
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms and ventilator alarms quickly and safely
- Neonatal/pediatric skills: umbilical blood gases, neonatal ventilator care, high-risk delivery assistance
- Medication and aerosol delivery systems including MDI, nebulizers and specialized inhaled meds
- Strong ABG interpretation and clinical decision-making in critical care settings
- Charting proficiency in Epic and effective interdisciplinary communication
