Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care as the primary caregiver on the PCU unit
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Manage and care for up to 3 ICU step-down patients or up to 4 med/surg patients
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members and families for optimal outcomes
• Monitor patients closely, administer prescribed treatments and titrate drips as ordered
• Document care thoroughly while maintaining patient confidentiality and clinical accuracy
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio (Compact license accepted if applicable)
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience on PCU, step-down or ICU setting preferred
• Comfort and competence managing DKA, alcohol withdrawal, Cardizem drips and AFIB
• Strong critical thinking, communication and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work nights and every other weekend

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and patient monitoring in a step-down/PCU environment
• Medication administration and IV/drip management
• Care planning, evaluation and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Critical thinking under pressure and effective clinical judgment
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
