Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during invasive catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and device implants with calm precision
• Provide high-quality pre-procedural, intra-procedural, and post-procedural nursing care and patient education
• Monitor patient hemodynamics and EKGs, recognize arrhythmias, and respond promptly
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, instruments, and equipment checks to ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary cardiovascular team to coordinate scheduling and patient flow
• Accurately document procedures, patient status, and post-procedure instructions in the medical record
• Participate in ongoing clinical skills evaluations, inservice education, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Kansas (required)
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Basic EKG/Arrhythmia identification certification (required)
• RCIS certification or ARRT licensure for technologist roles, or willingness to obtain where applicable
• Previous experience in a cardiac cath lab, EP lab, telemetry, or related cardiovascular area preferred
• Comfort assisting with pacemaker and ICD implants, ablations, and 3D mapping procedures
• Ability to work weekends and participate in department scheduling

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or related clinical degree required; BSN preferred
• RCIS certification or formal training for cardiovascular technologists encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular services and patient care in invasive cardiology
• Invasive catheterization and electrophysiology procedure support
• Echocardiography and electrocardiography fundamentals, including EKG tracing and interpretation
• Familiarity with sterile technique, device implantation workflows, and post-procedure recovery
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with physicians, patients, and care teams
• Knowledge of infection control standards and equipment/instrument vendor coordination
