Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments to assist, control, and improve patients' breathing
- Provide oxygen and other medical gases safely and according to protocols
- Set up and manage ventilators, positive pressure devices, and resuscitation equipment
- Deliver aerosolized medications and monitor patient response to therapies
- Perform pulmonary diagnostic procedures and thorough respiratory assessments
- Document interventions, patient responses, and clinical changes clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Support emergency response when respiratory crises occur and act decisively
Qualifications
- Active Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications encouraged
- Previous experience providing respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostics preferred
- Comfortable operating ventilators, positive pressure devices, and administering medical gases
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced clinical team
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent clinical training (Bachelor's preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Pulmonary diagnostics and patient assessment skills
- Proficiency with ventilators, positive pressure devices, and resuscitation equipment
- Safe administration of oxygen, medical gases, and aerosolized medications
- Clinical documentation and charting best practices
- Teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient-centered care approach
