Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical/surgical unit
• Assess patient conditions, interpret data, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document care thoroughly and communicate changes in patient status to providers
• Support unit quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations
• Strong clinical judgment, collaboration skills, and a positive attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical/surgical nursing practices and protocols
• Ability to perform patient assessments and prioritize care effectively
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Good communication skills with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Time management and critical thinking under pressure
