Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care including airway management and ventilator management for adult and neo/peds patients
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced ventilators and respiratory devices such as G5, Servo, Avea, HFOV, Jet, V60/V30
- Support the emergency department with rapid respiratory interventions when needed
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes in patient status to the care team
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians and multidisciplinary staff to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory care plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Respiratory Therapy license (required)
- Current ACLS, PALS, BLS, and NRP certifications (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred
- Critical care experience a plus — we have roles for adult and neo/peds patients
- Comfort with advanced ventilator modalities and airway management
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-focused attitude
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- RRT or CRT credentialing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
- Experience with ventilator management and modes including HFOV and jet ventilation
- Skilled in airway management, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive ventilation
- Familiarity with ED support workflows and rapid response situations
- Ability to troubleshoot respiratory equipment and perform preventive checks
- Knowledge of critical care principles and neonatal/pediatric respiratory needs
