Roles & Responsibilities
- Obtain and record vital signs accurately to support clinical decision-making
- Room patients, record histories, medications, and allergies with compassion and attention to detail
- Prepare exam rooms and set up equipment for vascular procedures and clinics
- Assist providers with procedures, including suture removals and wound care as needed
- Collect and label specimens (throat swabs, urine, venipuncture) and perform point-of-care testing like glucometer checks
- Administer injections and immunizations per clinic protocols when authorized
- Perform telephone triage and handle pharmacy refill requests in a professional, patient-centered manner
- Chart all patient interactions and procedures in EPIC accurately and timely
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
- Valid Washington State MA license required and must present local address upon submittal
- Minimum 1 year of MA experience required (2 years preferred) — vascular or outpatient experience a plus
- EPIC charting experience required
- BLS preferred
- Able and willing to float between nearby clinics within the skillset
- First-timers accepted — we welcome motivated clinicians eager to learn
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Skilled in taking vital signs, vision/hearing screening, and rooming patients
- Competent in specimen collection, labeling, and point-of-care testing
- Experience with injections, immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and venipuncture
- Strong telephone triage, communication, and patient education skills
- Comfortable assisting with minor procedures and suture removal
- Detail-oriented with excellent infection control and safety practices
