Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver precise external beam radiation therapy to oncology patients daily, maintaining high standards of safety and compassion
- Operate and maintain Varian 21 EX/iX equipment and ARIA workflows to support accurate treatment delivery
- Perform patient set-up, imaging (CBCT/kV/mV), and verification to ensure treatment accuracy
- Calculate and verify radiation doses in collaboration with the clinical team and treatment planning systems
- Document treatments and patient progress in the electronic charting system (EPIC as preferred)
- Follow radiation safety protocols, isolation precautions, and rapid response procedures to protect patients and staff
- Assist with custom molds, shielding, and beam-modifying tasks as needed for individualized patient care
Qualifications
- Current CA State Radiation Therapist license (required)
- ARRT (T) certification in Radiation Therapy (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience (required)
- Experience with Varian 21 EX/iX equipment and ARIA skillset (required)
- EPIC charting experience preferred
Education
- Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiation safety and isolation precaution best practices
- Patient setup, immobilization, and positioning techniques
- CBCT/kV/mV imaging and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
- External beam therapy and IMRT delivery principles
- Treatment planning systems familiarity (Pinnacle, Eclipse) helpful
- Ability to use lift/transfer devices and assist patients safely
- Comfort responding with rapid response/code teams when required
