Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients using Varian 21 EX/iX systems and ARIA for charting
- Operate imaging modalities (CBCT/kV/mV) and support tumor localization to ensure precise treatment delivery
- Follow radiation safety protocols and assist in calculating and documenting treatment doses
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team to develop and execute individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient charts in EPIC/ARIA and ensure timely, compliant documentation
- Provide compassionate patient care, including positioning, immobilization, and patient education during treatments
Qualifications
- California State Radiation Therapist license (required)
- ARRT (T) (Radiation Therapy) certification (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience (required)
- Proven experience with ARIA and Varian 21 EX/iX equipment (required)
- EPIC experience preferred; Eclipse or Pinnacle experience is a plus
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program or Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred
- Current ARRT certification and state licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiation Therapy procedures and radiation safety best practices
- Treatment Planning Systems (Eclipse, Pinnacle) and external beam/IMRT workflows
- Image-guided radiation therapy: CBCT/kV/mV imaging and B-mode targeting
- Patient immobilization, custom molds, shields, and beam modifying/positioning techniques
- Proficient charting in ARIA and EPIC
- Use of lift/transfer devices and adherence to isolation precautions
- Familiarity with rapid response/code team procedures
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Attention to detail for dose calculations and treatment verification
- Ability to manage a caseload (~25 patients/day) while providing compassionate care
