Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform general MRI and MRA procedures accurately and efficiently to maintain optimal patient flow
- Prepare patients for imaging, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Operate MRI equipment and related technology while following safety and imaging protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to deliver high-quality diagnostic images
- Maintain accurate patient records, document procedures, and manage imaging data in PACS/RIS
- Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and facility policies at all times
- Assist in equipment checks and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Contribute to a welcoming, culturally respectful environment for patients from Navajo, Hopi, and neighboring communities
Qualifications
- Current Arizona State License in Radiology and MRI (required)
- ARRT Certification in Radiology RT(R) and MRI MR (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on MRI procedure experience
- Experience with PACS/RIS systems, email, and general computer programs
- Strong patient care skills and cultural sensitivity when working with Native American populations
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Completion of radiology training from an AMA-approved school of Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- MRI and MRA imaging protocols and safety practices
- Cross-sectional anatomy and radiologic positioning
- PACS/RIS systems for image storage and retrieval
- Basic troubleshooting of MRI equipment and accessories
- Electronic medical records and standard hospital documentation
- Infection control, patient safety, and emergency response procedures
- Professional bedside manner and effective patient communication
