Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor patients accurately during diagnostic and interventional procedures to ensure safe outcomes
- Set up and maintain equipment and sterile fields for cardiac and vascular procedures
- Assist with coronary and peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases, including stent and angioplasty work
- Support electrophysiology studies, pacemaker and AICD insertions, and temporary pacemaker management
- Operate fluoroscopy equipment and maintain imaging records in PACS and Epic
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring and assist with Impella insertion and other advanced devices as needed
- Maintain inventory, stock supplies, and ensure equipment operation and maintenance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, PT, respiratory, and rapid response
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or relevant interventional experience
- ARRT (R) preferred and often required for the role
- Fluoroscopy permit required or pending with application submitted at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS required
- RCIS candidates considered only with 5+ years of experience; otherwise ARRT preferred
- Willingness to take call and participate in the facility call rotation
- Ability to scrub, maintain a sterile field, and set up procedural equipment confidently
- Pending state licenses may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Education
- Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field preferred
- Equivalent healthcare experience and certifications will be considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Fluoroscopy operation and safety practices
- Cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, and stent placement
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Impella support and temporary/permanent pacemaker procedures
- Interventional radiology exposure, coil embolization and peripheral interventions
- Proficiency with Epic charting and PACS imaging systems
- Equipment setup, maintenance, and inventory management
- Strong infection control and sterile technique
