Shift Type: Day shifts (24-hour call 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)

Hours per Week: Varies (24-hour on-call shifts; approximately 10-15 shifts per month across locums; average worked callback ~5 hours)

Candidate Pay Rate: Submit competitive rates per rate caps: On-call $3,500 per 24 hours; Holiday 24-hour call $5,250; Callback $400/hour; Holiday callback $600/hour. Malpractice must be included in rates; orientation pay $200 for hours beyond 8.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope general OB/GYN coverage for hospital call, including labor and delivery management
• Respond promptly to call and callback duties, providing excellent patient contact during on-call hours
• Perform deliveries and emergency obstetric interventions, coordinating with general surgery backup as needed
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic EMR and complete required modules and virtual training before first day
• Participate in credentialing and required pre-application steps so EMR access and AD account creation can proceed
• Collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff to ensure safe, patient-centered care for mothers and newborns
• Communicate clearly with site leadership about availability, travel exceptions, and onboarding requirements

Qualifications

• MD or DO in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completion of an accredited residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Active Colorado medical license or ability to obtain CO license via IMLC
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to start
• Prior hospital call and L&D experience with comfort managing deliveries and cesarean sections
• Epic EMR experience preferred; provide years of Epic use and last use date in submission
• Clean file for emergency privileges; NPDB self-query required for credentialing
• Available to complete credentialing preapp/full app within 72 hours of initial app receipt for timely EMR onboarding

Education

• MD or DO in Obstetrics and Gynecology; completion of OB/GYN residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Labor and Delivery management, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation basics
• Skilled in vaginal and operative deliveries and cesarean sections
• Working knowledge of Epic EMR with ability to complete modules and virtual training prior to start
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to triage and stabilize obstetric emergencies
• Excellent communication skills for handoffs, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient conversations
• Ability to work independently on-call while coordinating care with on-site RN and surgical backup
