Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver compassionate, evidence-based care
- Administer medications safely and document all medication-related activities
- Provide ADL assistance to maintain patient dignity and comfort
- Manage gastrostomy tube, urinary catheter, wound vac, and tracheostomy care with confidence
- Deliver respiratory therapies including nebulized treatments and CPAP support
- Communicate pertinent clinical changes to MD/NP promptly and clearly
- Coordinate admissions and discharges to ensure smooth transitions of care
- Accurately document care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii (required)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certifications a plus
- Experience in Long Term Care or similar patient-care settings preferred
- Comfortable with medication administration, patient assessment, and ADL support
- Able to work varied 8-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
- Proof of flu vaccination required prior to contract start
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation
- Patient assessment and care planning
- Gastrostomy tube and urinary catheter care
- Wound vac management and basic wound care principles
- Nebulized treatments, CPAP, and tracheostomy care
- Strong communication skills for timely clinician notifications
- Ability to adapt in a busy long term care/hospital-on-site environment
