Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across the Main ED, Fast Track, and ED Observation units
• Perform rapid triage and initial assessments to prioritize patient needs
• Administer medications, IV therapies and emergency interventions according to protocols
• Rotate through assignments including triage, quick registration, COVID tent and entry screening
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and smooth transitions
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes in patient status promptly
• Support public health needs such as COVID testing or immunization clinics when requested
• Be ready to float to other departments or adapt duties based on patient volume and unit needs

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing (state licensure required; compact license if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in Emergency Department (some roles may require more)
• American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS and PALS required (or ENPC/TNCC where applicable per facility guidelines)
• Conscious sedation certification required (facility offers training after confirmation; $105 fee)
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Ability and willingness to rotate across ED areas and float to other units as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing fundamentals including triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization
• Trauma and medical emergency management
• Pediatric emergency care knowledge
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation, IV therapy and medication administration
• Infection control practices and experience with COVID testing/immunization clinic workflows
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Comfort working across multiple ED areas and adapting to changing assignments
