Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain procedural equipment and sterile fields for cardiac, vascular, and EP cases
- Monitor hemodynamics and patient condition accurately during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Assist physicians with coronary and peripheral interventions, pacemaker and AICD insertions, and EP studies
- Operate fluoroscopy equipment safely and in compliance with permits and facility policy
- Chart procedures and patient data in Epic with attention to detail and timeliness
- Maintain and troubleshoot inventory and specialized cath lab devices like Impella and stents
- Provide high quality patient care for adults and geriatrics, including pre and post procedure support
- Support interdisciplinary teams, rapid response activation, and unit-level patient flow
Qualifications
- ARRT required, with Fluoro permit strongly required or already applied for at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or related procedural experience
- RCIS acceptable only with significant experience, typically 5+ years, per facility guidance
- Pending state Fluoro permits considered if application is in place at submission
- Willingness to take call per unit needs, and ability to work a 4x10 day schedule
- Comfort charting in Epic preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Formal training in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field preferred
- Associate degree preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization procedures and PCI, diagnostic caths, left and right heart caths
- Electrophysiology studies, pacemaker and AICD insertion and programming
- Peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, angioplasty and stenting
- Fluoroscopy operation, radiation safety, and permit-compliant practice
- Hemodynamic monitoring and device support including Impella insertion
- Familiarity with PACS, Epic charting, and inventory/equipment maintenance
- Coil embolization, IVC filters, thrombectomy, and a broad range of interventional radiology skills
