Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, patient-family centered care in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid, accurate assessments and triage to prioritize care
• Act decisively and efficiently in emergency situations, keeping calm under pressure
• Document patient encounters accurately using electronic health records
• Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the organization’s mission and values
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high quality and safe patient outcomes
• Function independently when needed while escalating appropriately for complex cases

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Previous ED, urgent care, or emergency nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and basic computer skills
• Strong communication and assessment skills, able to make sound clinical judgments

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

• Safety and quality care standards
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
• Proficient computer and documentation skills
• Ability to function independently and respond rapidly in emergencies
