Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients, record vitals, height and weight, and ensure a warm, professional welcome
- Prepare patients and assist providers with ENT procedures and biopsies
- Perform telephone triage and manage patient follow-up calls with compassion and clarity
- Handle pharmacy refill requests and make medication-related calls
- Verify insurance eligibility and complete authorization forms to keep care moving
- Document patient encounters and procedures accurately in Epic
- Sterilize and prep scopes and instruments, following autoclaving and high-level disinfecting procedures
- Float to sister clinics as needed and help maintain smooth clinic operations
Qualifications
- MA-C required (Medical Assistant Certification)
- Valid Washington state MA license at time of submission
- Minimum 6 months of Medical Assistant experience preferred; ENT/Otolaryngology experience a plus
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS is preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient clinic and able to float to nearby clinics when needed
- Local candidates only within approximately a 50-mile radius
Education
- Medical Assistant certification (MA-C) or equivalent completion of an accredited MA program
- High school diploma or GED minimum
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Experience with rooming patients, taking vitals, and basic clinical measurements
- Telephone triage and professional phone etiquette
- Insurance verification and authorization processing
- Pharmacy refill coordination
- Familiarity with ENT procedures and assisting in biopsy set-ups
- Knowledge of autoclaving and high-level disinfecting of scopes
