Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adults on a medical-surgical unit
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and document safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and adjust care plans in collaboration with providers
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth transitions of care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain clear, timely electronic health record documentation
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Tennessee or active multistate compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including safe patient handling

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records, charting, and documentation best practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement
