Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide technical and clinical support to anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists across operating rooms, pre-op, PACU, and procedural areas
• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and delivery systems before, during, and after cases to ensure patient safety
• Assist with patient transportation, safe positioning, and intraoperative handling
• Assist with insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines under supervision
• Perform airway management tasks within the anesthesia technician scope and under direct supervision
• Respond to emergency situations in the hospital when called, providing calm, efficient support
• Document care and equipment status using Cerner to maintain accurate records
• Cover and float to different anesthesia locations as needed to support staffing

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years experience working as an anesthesia technician preferred
• Graduate of an ASATT approved program preferred
• BLS certification required
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation preferred
• Ability to take assigned call shifts and float across anesthesia locations
• Strong teamwork, communication, and infection control practices
• Physical ability to lift, position, and transport patients and equipment

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• ASATT program graduate preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical and technical anesthesia support
• Airway management techniques and familiarity with airway equipment
• Intravenous access support and handling of invasive lines
• Anesthesia machine and monitoring equipment setup and troubleshooting
• Patient positioning and safe transport procedures
• Electronic documentation using Cerner
• Sterile technique, infection prevention, and OR safety protocols
• Calm, clear communication in fast-paced and emergency situations
