Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to geriatric long term care residents
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
- Accurately document resident care and changes in Matrix EMR to support care continuity
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to DON or charge nurse
- Support a safe and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of North Dakota (required)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
- Comfortable working 12-hour day or night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Experience in long term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Must be able to complete orientation (2-3 shifts) and meet RTO requirement (7 days or less for a 13-week contract)
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening and meet facility immunization requirements
- Candidates may not be currently employed as full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
- Familiarity with Matrix EMR or similar electronic charting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic clinical observation and reporting
- Safe resident transfer and mobility techniques
- Geriatric care principles and compassionate bedside manner
