Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
• Perform fetal monitoring and NST triage using Cerner Fetal Links and FHM tools
• Assess maternal and fetal status, escalate concerns, and call anesthesia or OB as needed
• Serve as charge nurse/triage resource when assigned, coordinating patient flow and staffing
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, RT, pharmacy, and Stanford NICU staff
• Document care accurately in Cerner PowerChart and maintain clear communication with patients and families
• Support lactation care planning and educate new families on postpartum and newborn care
• Contribute to unit safety practices including the infant security system and couplet care ratios

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• BLS required; NRP and/or ACLS preferred or able to obtain
• Experience in OB/GYN, labor & delivery, maternal-child health or related area preferred
• Comfortable with fetal heart monitoring and Cerner PowerChart / Cerner Fetal Links
• Strong critical thinking, time management, teamwork, and communication skills
• Willingness to float to postpartum as part of unit rotation
• Ability to work the scheduled rotation including every-other-weekend coverage

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner PowerChart and Cerner Fetal Links
• Fetal heart monitoring and non-stress test (NST) expertise
• Triage and charge nurse skills, including patient prioritization
• Lactation care planning and newborn security procedures
• Comfort working with diverse populations and using translation resources
• Team collaboration, clear communication, and patient education
