Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized neurological nursing care with empathy and clinical precision
• Perform thorough neuro assessments and document findings using NIHSS when indicated
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Maintain required competency testing and complete specialty-specific skills checklists
• Ensure accurate documentation, medication administration, and adherence to protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certification or competency as listed
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations (fit test, drug screen, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, influenza, PPD/IGRA, varicella, COVID-19 vaccine, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of neurological assessment and stroke scales (NIHSS)
• Proficient in acute neuro patient monitoring and post-event care
• Comfortable with advanced cardiac life support and emergency response
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to follow specialty-specific competency checklists and protocols
