Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care and interventions tailored to each patient
• Operate and manage ventilators and respiratory equipment safely and effectively
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor respiratory status
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care plans
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as ABG sampling and interpret results
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient record and follow facility protocols

Qualifications

• Active Missouri Respiratory Care license or eligible for licensure
• CRT or RRT credential preferred; new grads considered if license-eligible
• Current BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred or obtainable)
• Clinical experience in acute care or pediatric settings preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete orientation and required training as scheduled

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited RT program
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation
• Skilled in airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol delivery
• Experience analyzing arterial blood gases and adjusting therapy accordingly
• Comfortable using EMR systems and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Patient-centered approach with strong interpersonal and teaching skills
• Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols consistently
