Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry beds and intervene promptly — your vigilance keeps patients safe
• Manage patient admissions and discharges efficiently to maintain smooth unit flow
• Care for a typical ratio of 1:5 while prioritizing critical needs and safe assignments
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Accurately document care and assessments in EPIC so the whole team has the right picture
• Participate in required skills checklists and competency exams to keep practice sharp
• Float to like units when needed to support staffing and broaden your clinical experience

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Illinois licensure verification via Nursys required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, DCI/BVP (current and valid)
• Telemetry experience and comfort managing cardiac monitoring and arrhythmias
• Experience with admissions/discharges and managing patient throughput
• Comfort using EPIC for documentation and care coordination
• Willingness to work nights, every other weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
• Successful completion of drug screen, TB testing, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Influenza, Tdap) and fit testing as part of onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Orthopedics and neuroscience patient care fundamentals (Ortho-Neuro-Tele environment)
• Strong assessment skills and timely escalation of changes in patient condition
• Familiarity with EPIC documentation workflows and electronic charting
• Ability to manage multiple patients safely at a 1:5 ratio with admissions/discharges
• Competency in IV medication administration and basic pharmacology
• Team-focused communication and collaboration during high-acuity situations
