Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate
• Provide direct med/surg and telemetry nursing care, including cardiac monitoring and response
• Communicate changes in patient condition and collaborate effectively with physicians and the care team
• Perform accurate documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes
• Lead patient and family education to support recovery and safe discharge
• Respond quickly and accurately to acute changes in condition and to treatment responses
• Support and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Adapt to reassignment within the hospital as needed, based on unit needs and competencies

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (state licensure required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications listed as required in the order
• Experience in med/surg and telemetry nursing preferred
• Comfort with cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred per employer guidance
• Ability to work night shifts and accept per diem scheduling

• Strong grasp of the nursing process and clinical assessment
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry skills
• Med/surg clinical proficiency
• Patient education and care planning
• Ability to evaluate and implement interventions and reassess outcomes
• Sound clinical judgment and rapid response to changes in condition
• Proficient documentation and communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with competency exams and skills checklists for specialty areas
