Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition using the nursing process and document findings accurately
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery and safety
• Provide direct patient care on the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit with attention to detail
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry, recognize changes, and escalate promptly
• Communicate effectively with physicians and the care team about clinical changes
• Deliver patient and family teaching to support discharge readiness and self-care
• Supervise and guide nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed in the order
• Current Nursys registration or ability to register
• Experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing with rhythm interpretation skills
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies, Skills Checklist and Specialty exams
• Required health documentation: COVID vaccination (preferred), MMR, TB test, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Telemetry equipment and alarm management
• Clinical documentation and reporting of diagnostic results
• Infection control practices and immunization requirements
• Strong communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Patient and family education techniques
