Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform thorough pre-operative assessments for pediatric patients to ensure readiness for procedures
Prepare the child and family for surgery with clear, compassionate education and support
Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to coordinate care and handoffs
Monitor and document vital signs and pre-op status, escalating concerns promptly
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the patient chart and EHR
Maintain a safe, child-friendly environment and adhere to infection control standards

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
Experience or comfort working with pediatric patients and pre-op procedures
Completion of orientation prior to independent shifts (orientation provided)
Current BLS certification required; pediatric certifications (e.g., PALS) a plus/preferred
Strong communication skills for interacting with families and multidisciplinary teams

Education

Completion of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN typical)
Active RN license for Washington state

Knowledge & Skills

Pre-operative assessment and pediatric nursing care
Ability to educate and reassure children and caregivers effectively
Accurate vital sign monitoring and clinical observation
Familiarity with perioperative workflows and documentation
Team collaboration and handoff communication
