Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert pediatric critical care nursing for PICU patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Document care clearly and accurately in the medical record
• Educate and support families during high-stress moments and involve them in care planning
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact RN license eligible for practice in California
• Experience or clinical background in pediatric intensive care (PICU) preferred
• Current BLS required; PALS or pediatric certification preferred
• Comfort with critical care monitoring and interventions appropriate to the PICU setting
• Ability to pass facility credentialing and complete required orientation

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN or BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Working knowledge of ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication administration
• Skilled in family-centered communication and patient education
• Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
