Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care for adult transplant and high-acuity medical patients
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Manage IV therapy and infusion care, including insulin drips and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Care for patients post-procedure (kidney biopsy, paracentesis) and support recovery protocols
• Perform central line and PICC management, blood product administration, and access/port care
• Deliver advanced respiratory support using non-invasive modalities (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—pharmacy, respiratory, PT, social work—to optimize patient outcomes
• Chart accurately in Epic and use the Pyxis medication system to maintain medication safety

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with a strong Stepdown/PCU background
• Experience with transplant, renal, or other high-acuity medical patients preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting and Pyxis medication system
• Comfortable managing dysrhythmias, insulin protocols, central lines, and blood products
• Willingness to float within the OSU organization, take call, and cover weekend rotations
• Able to work night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
