Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, rotating schedule with every-other-weekend required (Saturday & Sunday). Night shift (NOC) with minimum 2 holidays during the contract and on-call callback expectation (30 minutes to arrive).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with diagnoses such as trauma, cardiac events, sepsis, stroke, renal and respiratory failure
• Assess patients continuously and titrate drips safely and accurately for cardiac drips, insulin, sedation and other therapies
• Interpret telemetry strips, document rhythm changes, and act quickly on telemetry findings
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to vents and coordinate with RTs for advanced airway management
• Chart clearly and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity of care and compliance
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Provide bedside leadership during critical events and mentor support staff and peers as needed
• Demonstrate competency in orientation objectives and successfully complete the required orientation exam

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care experience
• Comfort with cardiac monitoring, drip titration, ventilator troubleshooting and critical care assessments
• Valid driver's license at time of submission (radius rule applies)
• Ability to pass orientation competency exam (90% pass threshold) and adhere to facility policies

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and GE monitor familiarity
• Drip titration and hemodynamic management
• Critical care assessment and rapid recognition of patient deterioration
• Ventilator basics, CPAP/BiPAP/high flow oxygen troubleshooting
• Sepsis management, post-procedure cardiac care, and trauma response
• Proficient documentation in EPIC and effective interdisciplinary communication
