Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care across multiple units with compassion and clinical skill
• Float between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and occasional Cardiovascular units to meet patient care needs
• Manage advanced equipment and procedures including wound VACs and chest tube care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR and manage medications via Pyxis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute individualized patient care plans
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices
• Adhere to infection control, professional dress standards, and unit policies to ensure patient and staff safety

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC are preferred
• 2-10 years of clinical nursing experience as indicated in the job posting
• Ability and willingness to float between medical and surgical units
• Proof of immunity/documentation required (medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted)
• Comfort with 12-hour day shift schedule and variable weekly hours

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Experience with Meditech EMR for documentation
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication systems
• Clinical experience with wound VAC management and chest tube care
• Ability to work effectively within varying nurse-to-patient ratios and adapt to unit needs
• Basic familiarity with cardiovascular nursing principles (occasional coverage)
