Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and compassionately, obtaining full vitals and histories
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with procedures and sterile set ups
• Perform point-of-care testing and routine laboratory tasks (glucometer, strep, urine dip)
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs and pulse oximetry as needed to support diagnoses
• Administer immunizations and intramuscular injections safely and confidently
• Document accurately in EPIC — charting that keeps the care team informed
• Handle pharmacy calls and refill requests to keep patients on track with meds
• Support clinic flow as part of a 5-MA team, collaborating closely with clinicians and staff

Qualifications

• Current MA-C (Certified Medical Assistant) — WA MA-C license in-hand required at time of submission
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C (Adult outpatient experience preferred)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Locals only: candidates should live within ~50 miles and have reliable personal transportation
• Open to temp-to-perm conversion — candidate must be willing to join the clinic permanently if offered
• Pending licenses are not accepted

Education

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) — Washington MA-C license required
• BLS certification required
• CMA credential is recognized/valued

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• Strong skills in obtaining vital signs, rooming patients, and recording meds/allergies
• Experience with 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition and basic EKG workflow
• Competent in point-of-care testing: blood glucose, strep testing, urine dip/UA, basic lab draws
• Skilled at administering immunizations and intramuscular injections
• Able to set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays and assist during procedures
• Comfortable handling pharmacy calls and patient refill coordination
• Good communication and teamwork in a busy primary care clinic
