Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients in the PACU
Continuously assess and monitor patients, recognizing changes and escalating concerns
Administer medications and treatments as ordered and accurately document care
Coordinate closely with anesthesia, surgical teams, and families to ensure safe handoffs
Educate families on recovery and discharge instructions in a clear, caring manner
Participate in orientation and unit processes to support a smooth team workflow

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license (MA license or applicable compact license preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Experience or strong interest in PACU care and working with pediatric patients
Comfortable with patient monitoring, IV therapy, and post-anesthesia protocols
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Completion of unit-specific orientation and competency validations

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric post-anesthesia assessment and recovery management
Vital sign monitoring, airway vigilance, and pain management
IV medication administration and documentation best practices
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
Teamwork, clear communication, and family-centered care approach
