Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert neonatal nursing care for neonates and infants in a Level III NICU setting
• Manage advanced respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, high-frequency ventilation and oscillators
• Perform and manage IV therapy, PICC care and central line care including blood draws
• Assist with and support procedures such as intubations, spinal taps and ROP exams as needed
• Titrate vasoactive medications like dopamine safely and according to protocols
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in Epic charting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, social services) to optimize patient outcomes
• Support families with culturally sensitive care in a large Hispanic community

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in the NICU specialty
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
• Comfort and experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Experience with central line care, PICC lines and central line blood draws
• Demonstrated competency with neonatal equipment: CPAP/BIPAP, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes and warmers
• Willingness to work night shifts and every-other weekend schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal care and NICU nursing fundamentals
• Advanced ventilator management and experience with oscillators/high-frequency vents
• Bubble CPAP setup and monitoring
• IV therapy and central line/PICC line management
• Neonatal resuscitation skills (NRP) and pediatric stabilization (PALS/BLS)
• Familiarity with Epic electronic charting
• Procedural support: intubation assistance, spinal taps, ROP exam coordination
• Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams and communicate with families
