Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge plans
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (NH or compact license as applicable)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing (clinical competency in Med/Surg care)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as applicable
• Comfort working 12.5-hour shift blocks and adapting to unit needs
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and prioritize care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Diploma programs considered if RN licensure is met

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Patient assessment, wound care, and post-op care abilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Time management, delegation, and care coordination skills
• Infection control, safety protocols, and patient advocacy mindset
