Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights (NOC); block/self-scheduling with every-other-weekend requirement and alternating holidays; guaranteed ~36 hours/week. May float to ED based on experience. Specific start/end times not provided in the posting.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate MedSurg nursing care for a mostly geriatric patient population
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary colleagues to deliver team-based care
- Use EPIC for accurate charting and handoffs to maintain continuity of care
- Support post-surgical rehab and general medical patients through assessment, interventions, and patient education
- Troubleshoot CPAP for patients as needed and escalate respiratory concerns appropriately
- Participate in unit orientation and handovers to maintain unit standards and patient safety
- Float to the ED when needed and apply ER-preferred skills to support surge needs
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (MedSurg or ER experience preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC
- Comfortable using EPIC electronic medical record
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend/holiday rotation expectations
- Willingness to float to the ED based on experience
- Able to provide required RTO within the stated timeline (per facility submission rules)
Education
- Active RN license required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- MedSurg nursing and geriatric patient care expertise
- Familiarity with dementia, stroke, and skin care for older adults
- Experience collaborating with CNAs and charge nurses in team assignments
- EPIC charting proficiency
- Basic respiratory troubleshooting (CPAP) and recognition of escalation needs
- Comfort with telemonitoring capacity and team-based strip review processes
