Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside nursing on Med/Surg-Telemetry units, delivering safe, patient-centered care
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and rapidly interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Manage IV therapy, start and maintain IVs, and assist with PICC and central line care
• Administer medications and blood products following protocols and facility policies
• Chart accurately and promptly in Epic (Epic is a hard stop — your documentation matters)
• Respond on Rapid Response/Code teams and participate in emergency interventions when needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members — PT, RT, pharmacy, social services and more — to coordinate comprehensive care
• Provide compassionate care for adult and geriatric patients, including feeding tube care and CBI management when required

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — required (current, active licensure as applicable)
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience (Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• Telemetry and Med/Surg training required prior to assignment
• Travel experience required — prefer clinicians who are not first-time travelers
• Epic experience required (Epic hard stop — must have prior Epic charting experience)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Proficiency with IV therapy and phlebotomy preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Med/Surg nursing fundamentals and telemetry-specific care
• IV therapy, PICC/central line care, peripheral line management
• Phlebotomy and blood product administration
• Feeding tube management and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Tracheostomy care, oxygen administration, and nasal cannula management
• Familiarity with Rapid Response and Code team processes
• Isolation precautions and PPE best practices
• Use of Epic electronic health record for charting and documentation
• IV insulin protocols and PCA management
