Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical pediatric patients
• Perform timely assessments and document findings accurately in the patient record
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families to support understanding and recovery
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competency and best practices
• Escalate changes in patient condition promptly and follow established escalation protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact/transferable license preferred)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing and pediatric care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (and additional pediatric certifications preferred where applicable)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to follow facility policies and participate in orientation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles with pediatric considerations
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Patient and family education techniques for pediatric populations
• Basic proficiency with electronic health record documentation
• Clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization skills
• Team collaboration and effective communication in fast-paced settings
